Cursed Text Generator

Turn normal text into g̸l̶i̷t̕c̕h̸y̶ cursed text — adjustable from lightly haunted to fully unreadable.

What is cursed text?

Cursed text — also called zalgo text or glitch text — is ordinary text overloaded with Unicode combining diacritical marks: accents, tildes, and strokes that stack above, through, and below each letter. Pile enough of them on and the text appears corrupted, dripping, or possessed — while remaining real, copy-pastable text.

Because it's standard Unicode rather than a font or image, cursed text survives copy-paste into most apps: Discord messages, TikTok comments, usernames, bios, and anywhere else Unicode is rendered.

How to use it

  1. Type your text — the cursed version appears instantly below.
  2. Set the intensity. Low keeps it legible with a light haunting; high buries it in marks completely. The marks are random — hit Re-roll for a different corruption of the same text.
  3. Copy and paste anywhere that accepts text.

Where it works (and where it doesn't)

Most platforms render cursed text fine in messages and comments. Some are stricter with usernames — heavily stacked marks may be rejected or trimmed, so try a lower intensity if a name field refuses it. A few platforms deliberately limit stacking height to keep zalgo from overlapping other lines, which flattens the effect but keeps your text intact. And screen readers struggle with combining-mark soup — kind people avoid cursing entire posts.

Why is it free?

Every tool on FreeToGenerate.com is genuinely free — the curse is applied entirely in your browser, with no account, no watermark, and no limits on how much text you afflict.
