What is a pangram solver?

In word-puzzle terms, a pangram is a word that uses every single one of your available letters at least once, even if a letter shows up more than once in the word. That is different from the more familiar sense of pangram as a sentence that touches every letter of the alphabet, like “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”. This tool works with the word sense, not the sentence sense.

That word-level definition is exactly what NYT Spelling Bee style puzzles are built on. You are given a set of letters, usually seven, and asked to build as many words as you can using only those letters, with one letter required in every word. Any word that manages to use all seven letters is a pangram, and those words are worth the most points. How to use the pangram solver

Honest limitations

Results come from the ENABLE word list, a public-domain, Scrabble-tournament style dictionary of roughly 173,000 English words, searched for lengths 4 through 15. That means it will surface plenty of legitimate English words, including plurals and less common inflections, that the real NYT Spelling Bee does not accept, because the Bee draws from its own smaller, hand-curated word list and occasionally allows a word ENABLE does not contain. Treat this solver as a superset with gaps against the Bee's official answers, not a guaranteed answer key. It also only returns words of 4 letters or more and ignores proper nouns, hyphenated words, and recent slang, matching standard Spelling Bee word rules.

The first time you search in a session, the tool downloads the word lists it needs, about 1.5 MB covering lengths 4 through 15, which causes a brief loading state.
