Sentence Case Converter
Turn ALL CAPS, all-lowercase, or messy text into properly capitalized sentences with one click.
What is sentence case?
Sentence case is how ordinary prose is capitalized: the first letter of each sentence is uppercase, the standalone word “I” is uppercase, and everything else is lowercase. It's the expected format for emails, documents, messages, and most writing on the web.
This converter lowercases your text and re-capitalizes each sentence automatically — the fastest way to rescue a paragraph typed with caps lock on, or text pasted from a heading or subtitle file.
How to use it
- Paste your text — any capitalization, any length.
- Click “Sentence case” — the highlighted first button.
- Copy the result. The other case buttons are right there if you need a different format instead.
One thing to check afterwards
Automatic sentence casing lowercases everything that isn't a sentence start — including proper nouns. After converting, skim for names, places, and acronyms (jane → Jane, nasa → NASA) that need their capitals back. The converter deliberately doesn't guess at these, because wrong guesses are harder to spot than missing ones.
